Quick and Easy Fixes to Increase Windows 7 Speed

One of the most frequent questions asked by users of Windows 7 is what is it they can do to boost the speed of their PC? The most obvious ways would be to lower your screen brightness, detach all USB port using devices, use the in-built mouse pad if you are working on your laptop instead of a USB attached mouse etc. For an even better boost to your system, you need to shut down programs or applications you are not using. You can go to the Task Manager and see which applications, processes and services are consuming more CPU power. Turning off processes that you are not using can significantly boost the speed of your system. Of course, you will have to manual turn off services like a web browser or a Microsoft Office application.
Alternatively, you can free up space from your disk by deleting unused files, temporary files and programs that you may have downloaded in the past but do not use any more. Empty out you Recycle Bin completely. All this should add space to your disk and increase the speed. A disk cleanup can be done by clicking on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.
Also, as a Windows 7 user you can make use of ReadyBoost to enhance your system's performance. This will add memory to your PC and increase performance of your system
